The Value Behind Coffee
Coffee Beyond the Cup
131 km from Medellín, in Southwestern Antioquia near the Andes Mountains, Café La Perla is born. Grown by Nicolás Edilberto Muñoz, a coffee farmer with over 50 years of experience, this coffee stands out for its unique flavor profile: red fruits, chocolate, jasmine, caramel, and a hint of citrus.
We may not produce Geisha coffee, but we do offer a distinctive cup—with notes of red fruits, chocolate, jasmine, caramel… and more. What we truly want is for people to recognize that in a municipality with just 7,000 hectares of coffee, there’s a hidden gem: La Perla. We are the only farm certified by Rainforest Alliance in the area, and pioneers in roasting coffee locally.

The Quality That Perseverance Creates

Fertile soils and unique microclimates of Southwestern Antioquia

La Perla coffee is born in privileged lands, where the combination of mountains, altitude, and climatic diversity creates ideal conditions for producing high-quality beans with distinctive flavor profiles.

Selective harvesting, bean by bean

Each coffee cherry is handpicked at its precise point of ripeness. This careful harvesting ensures consistency, purity, and exceptional flavor in every cup.

The technical quality of the coffee meets the human value of its origin

Our coffee is measured not only by technical standards, but also by the dedication and stories of those who cultivate it. The blend of science, tradition, and human effort gives it a unique character.

Cup profiles with sweet, citrus, and floral notes

The result is a balanced and aromatic coffee, with flavors that evoke natural sweetness, citrus freshness, and delicate floral notes—a sensory experience that reflects the richness of Southwestern Antioquia
Impact on the Community
Through coffee from Southwestern Antioquia, we promote:
We contribute to helping producers maintain fair and stable jobs, strengthening the local economy and supporting the well-being of coffee-growing families.
We promote the recognition and visibility of women in the coffee supply chain. Their leadership transforms communities and opens the path toward greater equity in rural areas.
We support families so they can remain on their land, preserving their traditions and fostering development in Southwestern Antioquia.

At La Perla, the mission is clear: to highlight the work of coffee growers and deliver a truly special product to the world. And for that to happen, the selection must be special—starting with the people. La Perla is yet another example of why coffee cultivation deserves to be exalted.
